Welcome to Reading and the Role of Technology. This Professional Development opportunity is designed to be completed in a computer lab setting. This section will cover a a five-day period. The format will include lecture, group discussion, software demonstration, hands-on software activities, exploration of web sites related to reading and technology, and creation of products while in the lab.
Learning objectives to be covered:
- After a presentation on the five components of reading, participants will identify and will discuss examples of each.
- Using a list of recommended web sites, participants will examine different sites and identify ways they can be used in the classroom setting.
- After hands-on, activity-based, software/hardware sessions with selected products, participants will identify tools and the ways they can use them to make text-based products assessible to students with reading difficulties.
